Buildings account for approximately two-thirds of greenhouse gas emissions in New York City. LL97 aims to reduce this number by setting energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions limits for buildings over 25,000 sq ft. Phase one starts in January 2024 with higher targets introduced in 2030.
