Telehouse International Corporation of Europe has commenced construction on a new £275 million data centre at its London Docklands campus, marking a major expansion of what is already the most connected data centre campus in Europe.
Named Telehouse West Two, the nine-storey facility will deliver 32,000m² of gross space and 33MW of power capacity when complete in 2028. The development is designed to accommodate increasing demand for high-density, scalable digital infrastructure, particularly from businesses adopting AI and other emerging technologies.
Located near London’s financial district, the new data centre will feature a mix of air and liquid cooling technologies, two meet-me rooms, and four dedicated connectivity risers. Each of its six technical floors will provide up to 4.4MW of IT power.
Flynn Management and Construction has been appointed to lead the build, working alongside mechanical and electrical specialists Jones Engineering Group. The site will be supported by two new 132kV substations delivering 11kV across the wider campus.
Telehouse West Two has been designed to meet BREEAM Excellent standards and will operate entirely on renewable energy. The scheme includes heat recovery systems and HVO-fuelled backup generators as part of its low-carbon strategy. The operator is targeting high energy and water-use efficiency with industry-standard metrics.
The investment supports Telehouse’s long-term commitment to London, where it has maintained a presence for over 35 years, and contributes to the company’s global infrastructure growth.
Kenkichi Honda, Managing Director of Telehouse Europe, said the new development aims to “empower digital transformation for enterprise clients” while aligning with sustainability and resilience goals.
The project will feature advanced physical and cyber security systems, including multi-layered perimeter controls, real-time threat detection, and 24/7 on-site surveillance.
This latest expansion underscores London’s ongoing role as a hub for digital infrastructure investment, driven by enterprise demand for secure, scalable, and energy-efficient data centre services.
