Willmott Dixon has been appointed to deliver a £92 million education campus at Wembley Park, bringing forward a major new teaching facility with a strong focus on technical, scientific and vocational training.
The project, commissioned by the United Colleges Group for the College of North West London, will transform a long-disused building on Olympic Way into an eight-storey campus providing 14,200 sq m of space.
Secured via the Southern Construction Framework, the development is designed to support the creation of an emerging education cluster in Wembley, aligned with wider regeneration ambitions for the area.
The building will be organised across three stacked volumes, with specialist workshops on lower floors, a central student hub opening onto a landscaped deck, and teaching spaces above. A full-height atrium will connect the building vertically, bringing natural light into the internal environment.
A key feature of the scheme is its mix of specialist facilities, including science laboratories, engineering and construction workshops, and training spaces designed to support skills development in areas such as digital technology and green industries. These are complemented by general teaching areas, social spaces and dedicated support provision.
The campus is intended to play a role in addressing skills demand across London, particularly in sectors linked to construction, engineering and the transition to net zero, reflecting growing alignment between education infrastructure and industry needs.
Sustainability targets include a BREEAM Excellent rating, with the building designed to support efficient operation and long-term environmental performance.
Construction is expected to complete in spring 2029, with the new campus forming a significant addition to Wembley Park’s evolving mix of commercial, residential and civic uses, while reinforcing the role of education-led development within the wider science and technology ecosystem.
