Arlington Real Estate secure planning permission for West Hartford Park

13 May 2026

Arlington Real Estate has secured planning permission for West Hartford Park, a major industrial and logistics development in Cramlington that will bring forward more than one million sq ft of commercial space across a 126-acre site.

Approved unanimously by Northumberland County Council’s Strategic Planning Committee, the scheme is being delivered in partnership with Homes England and represents one of the largest strategic employment developments currently progressing in the North East.

The masterplan includes a range of industrial, manufacturing and logistics buildings from 40,000 sq ft to more than 500,000 sq ft, alongside office accommodation, innovation space and supporting retail amenity. The units will be available on both freehold and leasehold terms and can be tailored to occupier requirements.

The development has been designed to provide large-scale, fully enabled commercial accommodation with substantial power capacity and modern infrastructure, targeting sectors including advanced manufacturing, clean energy, logistics and technology.

Located close to the Port of Blyth, the scheme forms part of the wider industrial and energy growth corridor emerging across South East Northumberland. It will also complement nearby investment linked to offshore wind and digital infrastructure projects in the region.

The plans include around 40 acres of ecological mitigation and landscaped open space, creating a green-led business park environment alongside the industrial and logistics accommodation.

With planning now secured, West Hartford Park moves into the next phase of delivery as demand for large-scale industrial and manufacturing space continues to strengthen across the North East market.
