Camden Film Quarter unveiled as ambitious new creative hub for London

Plans for Camden Film Quarter (CFQ), a major redevelopment in Kentish Town, have been officially launched, setting out a bold vision to establish a globally recognised centre for film, television, and the creative industries in the heart of London.

The project was unveiled at an event at Samsung KX on 20 September 2025, bringing together stakeholders from across film, TV, education, technology, and government. The launch included panel discussions, immersive presentations, and networking, showcasing CFQ’s ambition to become a flagship destination for both creativity and community.

Led by developer Yoo Capital, with architecture by SPPARC, Camden Film Quarter will deliver a wide-ranging mix of uses, including:

  • A world-class film and TV campus

  • Approximately 1,000 new homes, 50% of which will be affordable

  • An education hub developed in partnership with the National Film and Television School (NFTS) and London Screen Academy (LSA)

  • Over 2.5 acres of public green space, cultural venues, and community amenities

  • An estimated £1 billion investment into Camden and Kentish Town

  • Thousands of new jobs in the creative industries for local people

SPPARC Principal Trevor Morriss joined Yoo Capital and other partners including Places for People, Oxygen Studios, and NFTS at the event to present the vision for CFQ. Morriss described the development as a transformative project that will deliver not just infrastructure for film and TV production, but also vital resources for local communities and a long-term platform for economic and social regeneration.

The initiative is designed to blend work, education, housing, and leisure into a single cohesive neighbourhood, reinforcing Camden’s identity as a creative powerhouse. CFQ also aims to improve connectivity in Kentish Town and provide tangible career pathways into the creative industries.

The launch marks the beginning of a collaborative process to shape the next stages of the project, with public and industry engagement expected to continue. The development positions Camden as a leading player in the UK’s creative economy, while addressing housing and community needs at a local level.

CFQ is supported by a broad partnership that includes education providers, housing specialists, and cultural institutions, underlining its multifaceted approach to regeneration and its commitment to delivering long-term value for Camden’s residents and businesses.
