Summix submits plans for 5,500-home Wychavon Town

Summix, in partnership with Homes England, has submitted two outline planning applications for a major new settlement at Worcestershire Parkway, now officially named Wychavon Town.

The proposals, submitted to Wychavon District Council, outline plans for approximately 5,500 new homes along with a purpose-built town centre and high street, employment and mixed-use spaces, education and healthcare facilities, green and blue infrastructure, and integrated transport connections. The applications cover both the proposed town centre and a southern neighbourhood.

This move marks a significant step forward from strategic plan-making to the delivery phase, following the site’s allocation in the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review.

Peter Bateman, Planning Director at Summix, said the submissions reflected "continued investment and commitment" from both Summix and Homes England, and had been shaped through more than eight years of engagement with local communities, councils and statutory bodies.

Described as a potential “national exemplar for plan-led, infrastructure-first growth”, Wychavon Town is intended to demonstrate how large-scale development can be delivered alongside a productive, sustainable and well-connected town centre.

The planning applications (W/25/02814/OUT and W/25/02813/OUT) have been validated and are now open for public comment via the Wychavon District Council planning portal. Further consultation and stakeholder engagement will continue as the applications progress through determination.
