HG Construction begins work on £73m student scheme in Wembley

Development marks YourTRIBE's largest project to date

12 February 2026

HG Construction has been appointed main contractor on a £73 million purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in Wembley for YourTRIBE, marking the third collaboration between the two companies.

Located close to Wembley Stadium, the development will deliver 609 student beds across three blocks and includes approximately 15,000 sq ft of commercial space. The project comprises a south block of 19 and 27 storeys, offering 409 student rooms with amenity areas, and a 21-storey north block with a further 200 rooms.

The project secured Gateway 2 approval at the end of 2025, a regulatory milestone under the Building Safety Regime and a first for YourTRIBE. Construction is now underway, with completion scheduled for summer 2028.

HG Construction will utilise its self-delivery model on the scheme, including concrete frame, SFS, bathroom pods and drylining, aiming to improve quality control, reduce programme risk and drive sustainability outcomes.

Adam Quinn, chief executive officer at HG Construction, said: “We have a strong track record of successful collaboration, with our most recent scheme at Avonmouth Street delivered three months ahead of programme. With Gateway 2 approval secured, we look forward to progressing the scheme and maximising our social value contributions throughout construction.”

The project is YourTRIBE’s largest to date in both value and scale. Laurence Quail, director at YourTRIBE, said the Wembley scheme reflects the company's commitment to delivering high-quality, large-scale developments. “The partnership reflects a shared commitment to quality, collaboration and excellence across complex residential projects,” he said.

HG Construction and YourTRIBE have previously worked together on PBSA projects at Ilderton Road and Avonmouth Street in London, comprising 250 and 226 beds respectively.
