Mace Consult joins Amentum-led team for Rolls-Royce SMR delivery

Mace will support project controls and mobilisation for UK and Czech SMR rollout.

28 January 2026

Mace Consult has been appointed to the global delivery partner team led by Amentum to support the deployment of Rolls-Royce’s small modular reactors (SMRs), with initial projects focused in the UK and Czech Republic.

The team will provide programme integration, governance, construction management and delivery oversight for the SMR rollout, with Mace Consult specifically contributing expertise in programme mobilisation and project controls. The work will draw on Mace’s full range of consulting services, including project management, advisory and responsible business functions.

The appointment reinforces Mace Consult’s growing role in international infrastructure delivery. Its recent experience includes involvement in major programmes such as the Hudson Tunnel in the US, the UK’s New Hospital Programme, and King Salman International Airport in Saudi Arabia. Within the nuclear sector, Mace has worked on projects at Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, and for the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority.

Rolls-Royce SMR’s programme is initially focused on Wylfa in North Wales and Temelín in the Czech Republic. In the UK, the company has been selected by Great British Energy – Nuclear (GBE‑N) to deliver three SMRs capable of generating up to 1.5GW of low-carbon energy. The project is expected to create over 8,000 jobs and contribute to the UK’s net zero targets.

Mace Consult CEO Davendra Dabasia said the appointment reflected the company’s track record in both the nuclear sector and the delivery of major programmes globally. “We are committed to bringing our experience, expertise and insights gathered from different sectors and geographies to provide Rolls-Royce SMR with a service grounded in best practice and innovation,” he said.

Amentum, which leads the delivery partner team, is a global specialist in advanced engineering and technology. The partnership aims to provide the necessary oversight and delivery infrastructure to support the international expansion of SMR technology.
