Segro V-Park first to WiredScore Platinum

Segro V-Park first to WiredScore Platinum

5 September 2025

SEGRO's urban logistics development, V-Park Grand Union in Park Royal, has become the first industrial and logistics building globally to earn a WiredScore Platinum certification, highlighting its advanced digital infrastructure.

The six-storey facility achieved a score of 91 out of 100 in WiredScore’s assessment, recognising features such as high-speed fibre connectivity, reliable mobile coverage, secure telecoms infrastructure, and future-ready amenities including rooftop installation capabilities and AV-equipped meeting rooms. Sustainability technologies like electric vehicle charging and real-time energy monitoring also contributed to the rating.

WiredScore Platinum is the highest level of certification awarded by the global digital connectivity standards body, recognising buildings that meet rigorous criteria for resilience, speed, and user connectivity experience.

In tandem with this achievement, SEGRO has also attained Platinum Partner status within the global BCS (British Computer Society) partner network. This places SEGRO among fewer than 75 organisations worldwide with the distinction and makes it the only commercial property firm to hold this status. The recognition reflects SEGRO's broader investment in digital transformation and workforce professionalisation within its IT function.

Rich Corbridge, Chief Information Officer at SEGRO, described the dual recognitions as validation of the company’s strategic focus on digital and sustainability. “These achievements, both ‘platinum firsts’, underline our commitment to digital transformation, sustainability and supporting our colleagues with professional development opportunities that keep SEGRO at the forefront of the industry,” he said.

William Newton, CEO of WiredScore, praised the development as a benchmark for the future of industrial real estate. "Achieving WiredScore Platinum at SEGRO V-Park Grand Union is not just a world first for industrial real estate, but a signal of SEGRO’s leadership," he said. "The building’s integrated approach to connectivity and sustainability demonstrates what best-in-class looks like."

SEGRO is a UK-based Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) listed on the London Stock Exchange and Euronext Paris, managing a portfolio of 10.8 million square metres of space across the UK and seven European countries. Its properties serve customers across a range of sectors, with a focus on urban logistics and modern warehousing near major population centres and transport hubs.

The certifications mark a significant milestone for the company as it continues to embed technology and sustainable practices into its real estate developments across Europe.
