JPMorgan Chase plans new HQ at Canary Wharf
Global financier plans 3 million sq ft office tower as main UK office
3 December 2025

JPMorgan Chase has announced plans to build a new three-million-square-foot office tower at Canary Wharf, which would become its principal UK headquarters and the largest office building in London.
The proposed development is set to rise on the Riverside site and would accommodate up to 12,000 employees. Designed by Foster + Partners, the building will mirror the architectural approach of JPMorgan Chase’s global headquarters at 270 Park Avenue in New York. The firm will co-develop the project with Canary Wharf Group, with construction expected to begin following necessary local and national approvals.
If approved, the scheme would consolidate much of JPMorgan Chase’s existing London workforce into the new tower and its existing property at 60 Victoria Embankment. The firm currently operates from 25 Bank Street and One Cabot Square in Canary Wharf, in addition to its City location.
According to the bank, construction is expected to take six years. Interim upgrades to the current offices at 25 Bank Street are planned while the new building is under development.
The project will include surrounding public parkland, redevelopment of the nearby dock area, and improved public access to the Riverside. Interior features are set to include trading floors, collaboration spaces, and employee-focused amenities such as wellness facilities, rooftop terraces, and dining options.
The scheme is being independently advised by Sir George Iacobescu, with planning discussions anticipated as the next major milestone.
JPMorgan Chase has not disclosed a cost estimate for the development but cites the project as a long-term commitment to London as a global financial centre. The firm stated that the new headquarters is contingent on continued favourable business conditions in the UK.
