Kori Construction Norfolk care home project

Kori Construction delivering its second healthcare scheme in the region.

20 August 2025

Kori Construction has been awarded a contract to build a new 70-bed care home in Norfolk, marking its second healthcare scheme in the region. The project is being delivered in partnership with Abora Developments, a specialist in later living accommodation.

The care home will be built on a site adjacent to Taverham Nursery Centre on Fir Covert Road. Designed to provide high-quality residential care, the development will feature private dining areas, cafés and lounges on each floor, as well as amenities such as a hair salon, library, cinema, and landscaped gardens. Accessibility is a key component of the scheme, with step-free access throughout and two passenger lifts located near the main entrance.

The site, formerly part of a garden centre, is situated in an area that has seen recent commercial development, including a new Lidl and veterinary clinic. Once operational, the care home will be registered with the Care Quality Commission and is expected to create around 70 new jobs locally.

In addition to resident amenities, the plans include car and cycle parking, landscaped surroundings, and general communal areas aimed at fostering a supportive community environment.

Jordan Connachie, Managing Director of Kori Construction, said: “We are delighted to be beginning our partnership with Abora Developments through this latest scheme. This project reflects our shared commitment to delivering exceptional later living environments that combine quality, comfort, and community.”

Construction work is already underway and the scheme is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2027.
