Hillwood backs logistics scheme WestonM6 with £100m investment
Deal underlines confidence in Crewe as logistics hub.

Developer Hillwood has acquired the first 35-acre phase of employment land at WestonM6 near Crewe, paving the way for nearly 800,000 sq ft of new industrial and logistics space to be delivered on a speculative basis.
The site, located between the A500 and David Whitby Way, has detailed consent for three units and marks a key milestone in the wider WestonM6 masterplan, a landscape-led business neighbourhood being delivered by Muse and landowner, a subsidiary of the Co-op Group.
Hillwood is set to invest over £100 million in what will be one of the UK’s largest speculative industrial developments in 2026. The company says the scheme – to be branded Hillwood Park Crewe – will offer a range of unit sizes, appealing to occupiers from both the Midlands and the North West, with immediate access to Junction 16 of the M6.
Muse, which is overseeing the site-wide infrastructure works, is continuing to deliver roads, utilities, drainage and a 26-acre biodiversity habitat as part of the project’s long-term commitment to sustainability and placemaking. Hillwood’s development will sit within a wider employment zone designed to support wellbeing, active travel and green infrastructure.
Sarah Chicken, Development Manager at Muse, said the deal signals “market confidence in the location and supports our long-term vision in creating a greener, healthier and more connected business community.”
Phase two of the WestonM6 scheme, which has outline consent for a further 447,000 sq ft of employment space, is expected to progress later this year. The overall masterplan aims to establish a modern logistics and manufacturing hub in Crewe, supporting local jobs and regional growth.
