Plans for nuclear and clean energy science park in Gloucestershire

Chiltern Vital Berkeley (CVB) began consultation in July 2025 for its proposed research centre on the former Berkeley Science and Technology Park.

The 40-acre site was sold to CVB by South Gloucestershire and Stroud College in 2024. At the time, CVB announced its intention to create a low-carbon technology ‘super cluster’ at the site.

Plans shown in early July 2025 show the developers’ vision of a cutting edge facility for research into clean and nuclear energy. The development would include laboratory, manufacturing, office and education spaces.

Following consultation, CVB will submit an outline planning application to Stroud District Council to develop the site.
