Kori Construction has been appointed by Care UK to deliver a new 64-bed care home development in Mitcham.
The project marks the fourth scheme completed in partnership between the two organisations and will involve the demolition of the existing building on the site ahead of construction commencing.
The proposed three-storey development has been designed to provide specialist accommodation for older people requiring residential, nursing and dementia care, alongside a range of communal and wellbeing-focused facilities.
The scheme will include en-suite wet room bedrooms arranged across flexible residential wings, with accessibility and resident safety integrated throughout the design.
Shared amenities will include a café, cinema and bar area, hair salon, lounges, dining areas and activity rooms distributed across each floor, alongside staff facilities, assisted bathrooms and dedicated support spaces.
Ground floor residents will have direct access to landscaped external areas, including private patios, accessible footpaths and raised planting designed to encourage outdoor activity and social interaction.
Architecturally, the development will feature a contemporary palette of buff brick, grey cladding and weatherboarding intended to complement the surrounding residential context.
The project reflects continued investment in specialist senior living and care accommodation, with growing demand for modern residential care facilities across London and the wider UK market.
According to project details, the development is also expected to generate wider economic and community benefits during both the construction and operational phases.
